This is a blog to connect you with what is going on at St Aidan's church Gravesend in Kent. St Aidan's is one of a number of churches in the Thames Gateway area (East of London north and south of the River Thames) that have benefited from large grants to enable them to be of more use to the community in which they stand.

If you know anybody with a special or unusual interest, let me know and invite them along!
The venue will normally be in the powerhouse but it may be back in the church hall depending on powerhouse bookings.

Children & Youth work
All Children/Youth work comes under JAM (Jesus And Me).
Sunday: JAM operates at all 11:00am services (9:30am when there is no service at 11:00am).
Tuesday: 6:15-7:30pm, 7-11's Church Hall.
Wednesday: 4:-5:00pm 4-6's Church Hall.
Friday: 12 and over, every other week term time.

Bereavement Ministry At St. Aidan"s
Bereavement ministry at St Aidan's is taken very seriously. There are three members of the ministry team that currently carry out funerals and so it is generally the case that no funerals cannot be covered. It would also be true to say that each ministers experience is that it is a privalage to be able to help at a time when a family is in need.
Contact with us is normally made by the undertaker, but there is no reason why St Aidan's cannot be contacted directly.
Baptism Information
- Baptism can be performed for all ages, both children and adults.
- Baptism follows a visit from either a member of the Clergy or a Pastoral Assistant to explore what Baptism is and to discuss the service.
- Because baptisms are normally performed outside of normal worship, the candidate for baptism must come to church to be welcomed by the church community before the actual service, usually at an All Age service that caters for children as well as adults.
- Services normally happen at 3:00pm on the 1st. or 3rd. Sunday of the month.
- Collections taken at service are normally split between the church and a charity chosen by the family/ies attending
- More than one baptism may be carried out at the same service.
